Roscommon School is a Primary School (years 1-6) in Manurewa, a suburb of Manukau City, Auckland Region, New Zealand.
The school was originally called Roscommon Schools (plural) because it was divided into Junior School and Senior School. It was established in 1977 when the area was experiencing a lot of growth with new subdivisions and young families. In the 70's parts of Manurewa were just staring to become residential instead of farmland. The school was somewhat experimental because it was 'open plan' design with open classrooms grouped together in 'blocks' and children moved around different teachers for lessons as they do in High School.
In the late 70s Shirley Maihi was at the school and Rob Giddings was principal. Other teachers were Mr English, Miss Hapai, (junior School) Mrs Giddings, Mrs Poultney (Senior School).
